Blind-Dog’s wife, Miss EL passes at age 68

Miss EL, as she was known to most passed away on November 28th from complications of her spinal stinosis condition. She hand fought constant pain for over six years and still kept going to all the Gigs. She “ loved the Blues and the Music we played”, “Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler”.

Live at “Blush” Ultralounge in the Le Merigot Hotel downtown Evansville just across the street from the Casino Aztar. November 9th at 9:00PM, November 17th at 9:00pm and November 21st at 9:30 Pm.

The Big shove consists of Matt Clark on vocals and keyboards, Cory Christy on bass, Jimmy Cummings on drums and “Blind-Dog” Gatewood on guitar. The big shove covers your favorites with originality and a flavor unlike most of the other regional combos.

He will also be accepting instruments for set up and custom modifications through the Guitar Lab.

2002: “Blind-Dog” took First place in the Kentuckiana Blues societies, “Unsigned Blues Band Competition“, at Stevie Ray's Blues Bar, in downtown Louisville Kentucky. “Blind-Dog” competed against bands and was the first to win as a solo act here.

2002: “Blind-Dog” represented the Kentuckiana Blues Society at the 2002 International Blues Challenge on Beale Street at MR. Handy's Blues Hall in downtown Memphis. This was the first year that the Solo/Duo category was used.

2002: “Blind-Dog” took 1st place in Telluride Acoustic Blues Compitition on Friday the 13th at the Sheridan Opera House in Beautiful downtown Telluride Colorado and performed the next day on the main stage of the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival between, Richard Johnston and Robert Randolph.

2003: “Blind-Dog” took 2Nd place at the Crossroads Blues Societies “Blues Challenge“ at the The Slippery Noodle in downtown Indianapolis Indiana

2004: “Blind-Dog” took 2nd Place at the Detroit Blues Societies “Blues Challenge” in the Solo/Duo Division at the Tenny Street Roadhouse in downtown Dearborn Michigan.

2005: “Blind-Dog” took first place in the “Memphis Blues Societies “Battle of the Blues” on Beale Street in downtown Memphis Tennessee.

2006: “Blind-Dog” represented the Memphis Blues Society in the 22nd annual international Blues Challenge on Beale Street in downtown Memphis Tennessee.

2006: “Blind-Dog” took first place second year in a row at the Memphis Blues Societies “Battle Of The Blues” in the Solo/Duo division on World Famous Beale Street in downtown Memphis Tennessee.
